Am I the Only One Not Horny for Bridgerton?
The Duke of Hastings dries up my vagina faster than you can say ‘Madison Cawthorn’.
Okay, not faster than that. But it’s neck and neck.
So, I watched the first season of Bridgerton, and I didn’t get it. I liked the inclusivity of casting actors of color in roles that were traditionally reserved for white people, but the rest of it… meh.
Admittedly, I may not be the right audience for a Shonda Rhimes drama. So many feelings! So much drama! So much goddamn fuss over something that happened that in a normal world would not be a big deal. And it all just drags on for what seems like an eternity.
But I get it. I’m impatient, and that is on me. It’s not the show’s fault that it's made for people who like a calmer pace. I don’t really watch slow dramas in general, it’s not just the Shonda of it all.
What I did not get was all the women getting horny for watching it. Fans have even been complaining about the lack of sex, and one specific character, in the second season.
Erotic fiction is great, and it’s a diverse field. A lot of people like a Bridgerton-style (pretty tame, in my opinion) depiction of sex, and that is what made them horny for this show. Others like to see more action. Again, I get…
