As someone who probably reads every one of your stories, I'm sad to hear you're having to focus on other sources of income instead of Medium. But it's the same thing for me, too.

I don't always write about super popular topics (nobody cares about Latin American politics for some reason, lol) but after a year of hard work I'd managed to build a nice addition to my day job income. It was pretty predictable, and then the rug suddenly got pulled out from under me (and many others) a month ago. It looks like I'll have to go back to the soul-sucking work of content writing to make ends meet.

If I'm going, though, and if the direction of this platform stays this same course, Medium is going to lose another paying member. I'm not interested in the business and tech content they're currently pushing. And I must say, it feels a little sexist if that's who they're favoring, because it's mostly the bros doing that writing.

I want to see more stories about history, poltics and women, like the ones you write.
