Be Wrong a Little More

Trust me, it’s worth it.

I’ve always been the kind of person to have, ehm, strong opinions. Ever since middle school, I’ve been the girl who always had something to say about things. And I’ve always had a hard time admitting I’m wrong.

I guess it makes sense that I’ve become a Medium writer and a standup comedian. :)

But hey, there was a time, only a couple of years ago, when I thought I wanted to become a serious journalist. There was also a time when I thought I really, really wanted to work in political communication. After that, I really really thought I might want to get a PhD in History.

Come on now.

I love having opinions, but I’ve been wrong about a lot of things, including my own life plans.

I’m often wrong when I write stories here, too. But I’m not going to stop writing for fear of being wrong. There’s nothing shameful about it.

I make mistakes, all the time. But the one thing I know, and know well, is accepting I’m wrong, and changing my mind, no matter how hard it is.

And that, I think, is one of the best things I’ve learned in my life.

The Big Things

When I was young, I used to believe in God. We get Christianism poured down our throats…
