Hi!, Some tough questions there but first of all, definitely bring dollars because the unofficial exchange rate is much higher than what you'll get from an ATM. I'm not great with hotels, but the Palermo area is really nice and touristy and has more nightlife than the center of the city.

There might not be snow on the ground in Bariloche at the end of August, but possibly in Cerro Catedral if you go skiing. And you'll find cold weather gear there, but probably not the best quality and they might be super expensive.

I don't think the age gap and public displays of affection would be a problem, Buenos Aires is one of the more progressive cities in Latin America. The catcalling doesn't typically happen if the woman is walking around with a man, and I don't think it's worse than Bogotá.
