I’m Off to See My Family!
Taking the next 36 hours to travel halfway across the world.
Just a quick update here: I’m going to Finland to see my family!
It’s the first time I’m seeing everyone since January 2019, and the first in five years seeing one of my best friends who lives in Canada.
This is also the first time in three years that I’m leaving the city of Buenos Aires. And lemme tell ya, it’s necessary.
It’s also the first time I’m leaving the spare key to my apartment in the hands of my boyfriend who lives three blocks away. He shares an apartment with other people, so mine is going to be a nice refuge for those moments when he neds to be alone.
He also offered to take me to the airport and pick me up when I come back. I refused the first one, but I’m not saying no to being picked up just yet.
I’ve been single — or in a bad relationship — for such a long time that it feels strange to have someone care about my trip, you know?
I’m flying via Dallas, so it’s going to be about 36 hours of travel, but I guess at least I get to buy some books and magazines in English while on US soil. They do still sell books in Texas and not just burn them, right?
