It Was a Wild Month
Medium seems to have gone a little off the rails lately, but so have I.
Blaming others for everything that happens is neat, but it doesn’t usually solve anything. It’s also usually not the whole truth.
I’ve been doing it, because this place has for the past month gone through some strange changes.
But the last month or so has also been emotional and super busy, in my personal and professional life, so I suspect a part of the blame is on me.
Guess what, though? I’m pretty happy.
Who Can Follow This Thing?
As far as Medium goes, look, I have no idea what the hell happened with this platform. But somehow, around September 23, it all went south.
I’m not the only one who noticed, for sure. Even big names like Jessica Wildfire wrote about it.
Some writers weren’t affected, and I’ve seen others say they had their best month ever. Some said it only affected those big writers, but my personal experience is the opposite.
Who knows what’s happening? I have no freaking clue.
All I know is that my October earnings were less than half of what I’d managed to scrape together in previous months.
