The Guy In My DMs Just Had A Baby
With this long-term girlfriend, no less.
Once upon a time, when I was about 28 and just coming out of a long-term relationship, I opened an account on a dating app for the first time. It was still a little taboo back then and I wasn't completely sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of nice guys there.
Keep in mind, these were the early days of Tinder. There were lots of nice guys.
I had a couple of creeps, some okay dates, some repeats, no great love of my life. I wasn’t looking for it, either, I was just having fun.
Some of these guys ended up being friends of mine. Even if we don’t currently have sex together, we text, occasionally have dinner, call on birthdays, and care about each other’s lives. Others have turned into Instagram friends. We make the occasional comment on a story or like each other’s pics. It’s just common courtesy after they’ve been inside you, right?
These situations don’t really ever go back to the “having sex together”-stage. But the pandemic had been tough on all of us, I guess, and last summer we were all getting a little flirtier in our DMs.
The world was relatively open again! We had lost so much time! Everybody, let’s get in on!
