So, I’m still visiting my family in Finland this week. One of the things me and my sisters love doing when we’re at home is going through our old photo albums.

And we have a lot of them.

My friends usually have only a handful of photos from those days, but my parents were both photographers, so my mom’s cabinets are still full of old treasures.

And one of the most disturbing discoveries when I grew up was the subject of this article. I present to you, the fox hat.

Look at that proud face.

Is it an ewok? Is it Chewbacca?

No, that is an actual dead fox’s ass on my toddler head. A real one. With the tail hanging in the back and the paws cutely tied below my chin. I still remember them, too! They were really soft and I loved playing with them.

I loved the tail so much I made my mom cut it off when the hat was too small for me, and tie it to every hat I wore.
