Why Aren’t We Talking About the Nordstream Sabotage?

The list of suspects is incredibly low, but it’s all incredibly worrying.

Following the news this week, I’ve been amazed by how little coverage I’ve seen around the world about the leaks of the underwater Nordstream pipeline.

I wouldn’t have even heard of the whole thing here in Argentina if I hadn’t been checking out Finnish news yesterday, even though the news was jaw-dropping.

But even if there’s not much certainty of what happened, what’s evident is the sabotage of the two underwater pipelines transporting gas from Russia to Germany.

Because of the war on Ukraine and European sanctions on Russia, neither one of these pipes was in use, but there was still gas inside, half of which has now leaked into the air. Denmark announced that the pipes will likely be completely empty by Sunday.

Who Could Be Responsible?

What’s clear is that the pipes didn0t just casually begin leaking on their own.

Seismologists have confirmed two explosions in the Baltic Sea outside of Sweden and Denmark that coincided with the leaks. It’s an intentional and completely a man-made “accident”.
