You Just Don’t Want to See People of Color When You’re Bourgeois

I go to the gym, a lot. I used to know absolutely nobody there, and since my resting bitch face is pretty good I used to not speak to other people. Just get in, do the work, and get out.

Then, the pandemic got to me. I started valuing human contact when I was no longer seeing my friends and coworkers every day. So I started saying hi and, eventually, getting some gym buddies, mostly of the bro variety. Because that’s what I’ve got in the weights section.

Boy, did I mess up. Because lately, these conversations leave me pretty fired up. Especially when we talk about inclusivity, which for some reason has become the favorite topic to complain about for so many white men.

Right now, the bros are mad as ever, because so many of their favorite movies and TV shows have been absolutely ruined by people of color, women and LGBTIQ+ community.
