I had one of those conversations at the gym again. I know, why do I do this to myself?

Anyway, I got caught up in a discussion with a dude I know. Not a friend, but an acquaintance I say hello to, as one does when one shares a room and some dumbbells with someone five days a week.

Somewhere between sets, we got to talking about movies, and art in general.

This guy loves comic books and big blockbuster movies. He’s into Marvel, DC and LOTR, and watches most Disney movies with his kids. And he has a lot of opinions about all of them.

Surprise, surprise: he loathes the way movies have gone “woke”.

He hates the live action remake of The Little Mermaid because “they had to make the mermaid Black”. He can’t handle The Rings of Power’s inaccurate portrayal of fairies sometimes being Black. Yes, seriously.

The fact that fairies, mermaids, and wizards aren’t real and can look any way the producers want them to look doesn’t matter to him.
